It encourages the Slovenians to immigrate to the Stetes with words of Slovenian bishop in the US James Trobec: Slovenia is our mother, America our bride. On over 600 pages it gives detailed details on each state, with history, religious groups, native Americans, economy, descriptions of jobs in the industry, local politicians and local Slovenian and other Yugoslavian communities. Also included are Alaska, Hawaii and Canada. Large chapters describe American history and politics. The book is richly illustrated with photographs, sketches and vignettes. The last part or the book includes biographies of famous immigrants. The author Jurij Matej Trunk (1870-1973) was a Slovenian priest, born in Carinthia.
