November 1897 in Jena; gestorben 9. Dezember 1959 in Sorengo, Schweiz) war ein deutscher Schriftsteller, der 1933 in die Schweiz emigrierte. Sein bekanntestes Werk ist das Jugendbuch Die rote Zora und ihre Bande. Noch in der Nacht des Reichstagsbrandes wurde Kläber am 28. Februar 1933 als prominenter Kommunist verhaftet, kam aber durch die Hilfe seiner Frau bald wieder frei. Nach seiner Freilassung floh das Ehepaar mit Hilfe einer Verwandten aus einer Industriellenfamilie heimlich aus Deutschland erst in die Tschechoslowakei, später nach Carona im Tessin in der Schweiz. Emil Zbinden (* 26. Juni 1908 in Niederönz; gestorben 13. Dezember 1991 in Bern) war ein Schweizer Zeichner, Xylograph (Holzschneider) und Kunstmaler. Ab 1935 machte er Buchausstattungen für die Zürcher Büchergilde Gutenberg, ab 1936 auch für die Lausanner Guilde du Livre; bis 1953 illustrierte er deren bekannte Gotthelf-Ausgabe mit über 900 Holzstichen. Weite Verbreitung und Beachtung fanden auch seine Illustrationen im Kinderbuch Die schwarzen Brüder von Lisa Tetzner. In den 1950er-Jahren wandte sich Emil Zbinden verstärkt industriellen Themen zu.
