Die Darstellung ist gut gegliedert, übersichtlich und sehr kompakt. Statt Fließtext findet man Stichpunkte und Listen. Das Buch ist ideal zum Nachschlagen oder für ein schnelles "Update". Die Grundlagen der Neurologie lernt man besser aus anderen Büchern. Neben Fließtext findet man Tabellen und Flußdiagramme für klin. Entscheidungen Clinical Pathways Inhaltlich deckt es auch seltenere Probleme brauchbar ab. Und sucht man eine gute Übersichtsarbeit, kann man sich vertrauensvoll ans Literaturverzeichnis wenden. Grobe fachliche Fehler habe ich bislang nicht entdeckt. Das absolute Highlight ist die beiliegende DVD. Früheren Auflagen lag eine CD mit dem Volltext bei, leider in eine proprietäre, installationspflichtige Datenbank verpackt. In der neuesten Auflage hat der Verlag- gegen den Zeitgeist- den Schritt in ein offenes Format (nämlich HTML und Java) gewagt. Damit entfällt nicht nur das lästige Hantieren mit CDs und die Diskussionen mit dem Sysadmin über Programminstallationen- das Buch sollte damit auch unter Linux, Mac und sogar von PDAs mit javafähigen Browsern aus zugänglich sein (nicht selber ausprobiert). Dafür kann man Thieme nicht genug loben. Das Papier ist dünn, der Druck klein- doch für die Kitteltasche ist das Buch zu schwer und zu groß. Die Volltextsuchfunktion auf der DVD ließe sich verbessern. Man kann leider nur nach ganzen Wörtern suchen. Trunkierungen, Wildcards (* oder ?) und Boolsche Suche sind nicht möglich. Als Suchergebnis werden nur Kapitelüberschriften angezeigt. Es wäre schön, wenn man zusätzlich auch den gefunden Suchbegriff im Kontext (so wie bei Google) zu sehen kriegte. Das Textfenster der HTML-Seiten ist zu klein.
