In den WarenkorbVintage Leonard Cohen, "The Poet of Rock Music," German concert poster for a performance at Rheingoldhalle Mainz, Tuesday, December 6, 1977ultimately canceledwith the image of Cohen's 1975 "Greatest Hits" release in the lower left. Posters and tickets were printed for German performances by Cohen in 1977, a year in which Cohen did not tour, for an apparently canceled tour in support of his 1977 album, "Death of a Ladies' Man," which was released on November 3, 1977. Cohen's most controversial album, co-written and produced by an increasingly erratic Phil Spector, "Death of a Ladies' Man" was Cohen's fifth studio release, and was a marked departure for Cohen from his typically sparse singer/songwriter sound to Spector's "wall of sound" approach. The release left many Cohen fans aghast when it was released in 1977 but has since been reconsidered as a crowning point of Cohen's first decade of recording. It seems likely that Cohen's dissatisfaction with the record dissuaded him from any scheduled performances, hence the production of posters and tickets for what would be a nonexistent tour. 23.25 x 33 inches. Near Fine.
